Cheques no longer accepted

After yesterday's experience attempting to bank an international cheque  - I have had to make the decision to no longer accept cheques as payment.

There are several problem areas:

• The fees to deposit the cheques - are often 25% of the purchase price.
• I get the very bad end of a bank currency exchange rate - they skim quite a bit here.
• Some of the cheques bring a threat of dishonour fees equalling the face value of the cheques.
• I have to stop my busy life and personally present the cheques - yesterday it took ages whilst the staff held a meeting and then sternly warned me about all the fees and charges - all of course in order to comply with Australian Tax law - they say.

So it's electronic bank transfers from now on.
